This week we practiced surveying and radio telemetry, which was a blast. I loved learning how to use radio telemetry and how to use the GPS. Learning about the different kind’s of survey’s was really interesting I never thought about using person hours as a form of measurement. I really enjoyed the use of minnow traps even though I did not close it properly. Catching a bullfrog tadpole was really cool and it was interesting to learn about the differences between bullfrog and green frog tadpoles. This experience I think was really important for me to see how fieldwork, specifically survey work is done. I enjoyed looking for Kenneth the most, however. Looking for Kenneth was super fun and interesting. I really liked looking at a google map of my teams bearings and seeing how we were looking in the right direction, but always just a little bit off. It was a great learning experience as it gave me field skills that I can carry with me. Thankfully, we didn’t have to go into brambles to find Kenneth.
